Jose Manuel Barroso says satisfied with Romania's progress, but thinks reforms should continue

hspace=8 src= Sibiu, Sept 6 /Rompres/ - European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said in Sibiu on Thursday he was satisfied and glad that Romania has made progress, but added the road started should be continued, so that the reforms may be achieved.

Many political forces in Romania declare themselves in favour of European integration, which is a good thing, Barroso said and voiced confidence this support would grow in the period ahead.

The European Commission president, who is attending the 3rd European Ecumenical Assembly being held in Sibiu, stressed the event is a turning point not only for the Transylvanian city, but for the entire Romania too; he stressed that by his presence he wishes to pay tribute to the dialogue between cultures and religions.

Barroso voiced conviction that the sustainable effects of the Sibiu Ecumenical Assembly would be seen after the event ends and that the delegations participating in the gathering 'would spread in the entire Europe what they saw and discussed here'.
